Many initiatives have been put in place in order to reach a solution to greenhouse emissions that will help fight global warming. One of those initiatives is European Green Deal, adopted in 2019, with a goal to reduce net greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55 % by 2030, which will transform the European Union into a contemporary, resource-efficient, and competitive economy. The European Green Deal initiative is a strategy to achieve economic sustainability by turning climate and environmental challenges into opportunities in all policy areas, while ensuring a just and inclusive transition with the ultimate aim to make Europe the first climate-neutral continent.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

As part of the European Green Deal\u2019s Circular Economy Action Plan, new rules have been proposed to put an end to wasteful packaging by reducing its quantity and promoting reusable and refillable packaging solutions. The goal of the policy is to make sustainable products the norm, boost recycling and thus reduce the need for primary natural resources. It is estimated that just by reducing the packaging waste by 15 % per capita by 2040 in each member state, the total rate of EU waste will reduce by 37 %.<\/p>

Implementing eco-friendly and sustainable practices that help preserve the environment has been the focus of Marvie Hotel & Health from the very beginning when we carried out a set of actions with the aim to reduce our carbon footprint. All of our operational divisions are determined to reduce to the minimum the consumption of natural resources and the expense of energy.<\/p>

Being situated in the proximity of the sea, our guests can enjoy the majestic views of the surrounding nature, be it while on their balcony, terrace, or rooftop pool. But we are well aware of the fragility of our ecosystem, so in order to preserve our natural surroundings, we strive to responsibly manage our resources to minimize our impact on the environment. As part of our own sustainability initiative, Marvie Hotel & Health has already started to adopt environmentally friendly practices that contribute to the preservation of our planet.
Firstly, as per the recommendation of the Green Deal initiative, we minimize the use of plastic containers in every form. For example, for food delivery or takeaway drinks and meals, we use containers made of recycled materials. Moreover, guests in rooms are welcomed with complimentary water in glass bottles, which they can refill are reuse as many times as they want. In addition, we have minimized the usage of single-use packaging for food and beverages served inside our hotels and cafes, as well as the single-use packaging for fruits and vegetables. We are also working on the long-term goal to agree on the same with our suppliers.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Green Deal initiative also bans the use of miniature shampoo bottles and another miniature packaging, and hotels are required to find alternative solutions. Marvie Hotel has been implementing eco-friendly room amenities from its beginning. Handtowels, toilet paper, and facial tissues used in the hotel are made of 100 % natural cellulosic, which is completely recyclable during the process that doesn\u2019t use substances harmful to the people and the environment. Even our laundry bags are made of eco-cellophane that is completely biodegradable.<\/p>

When it comes to the use of shampoos and soaps, we rely on natural, vegan products with plant-based ingredients and organic extracts. The recycled packaging comprises tinted bottles which preserve the ingredients from UV damage. In order to additionally minimize the use of plastic, the shampoos are packed in Smart Care dispensers, which are also completely recyclable. All of our guests are additionally welcomed with hygienic sets and accessories that come in a 100 % recycled box with sealed pre-cut.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

In order to support our efforts in creating a sustainable hotel, our guests can also contribute in many ways and thus help save energy and reduce carbon dioxide emissions. Examples are numerous, such as reusing the towels, turning off the lights and other appliances when not in use, and adjusting optimal room temperature ranges. Every small step counts and helps to save the environment.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
