A cancer diagnosis marks the beginning of an uncertain journey filled with questions. Beyond medical treatment, patients and their families are faced with sudden lifestyle changes, dietary doubts, and emotional challenges. That is why, alongside medical care, having access to reliable information and expert guidance is essential for understanding every aspect of life with a diagnosis.
These key topics will be the focus of a free public panel, “Navigating a Cancer Diagnosis,” taking place on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at 6:00 PM at Marvie Hotel in Split. The event is organized in partnership with Udruga Caspera, an association supporting women diagnosed with and treated for cancer.
Oncologist, nutritionists, and a psychotherapy counselor in one place
Dr. Ante Strikić, PhD, MD, a specialist in clinical oncology, will discuss what a diagnosis really means, which questions to ask your doctor, and how to navigate the treatment process. He has more than 15 years of experience in treating malignant diseases.
Nutrition during cancer treatment is another area that often raises questions. Nutritionists Dora Bučan Nenadić and Marija Selak will discuss nutrition during and after treatment, offering practical guidance that can help patients in their everyday lives.
Alda Strikić, a psychotherapy counsellor, will address the emotional challenges that may arise following a diagnosis and the importance of psychological support when navigating change. Fear, uncertainty and changes in relationships with loved ones are experiences some people face, making it important to recognise personal needs and know where to seek help.
The lecture will be moderated by Marina Zečić, Vice President of the Caspera Association for Women Affected by and Treated for Cancer. Following the presentations, attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and receive further clarification on the topics that interest them.

The lecture is part of Hotel Marvie & Health’s health and wellness programme, which brings its professionals and services closer to the local community. The experts taking part in the lecture are also available for consultations at Marvie, giving those interested the opportunity to seek their services beyond the event.
The lecture “Coping with a cancer diagnosis” will take place on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at 6 PM at Hotel Marvie, Peričićeva 1, Split. Attendance is free of charge, but advance registration is required due to limited seating.
