1.General Information:
This Personal Data Protection Statement for Marvie Hotel and Health has been in effect since 25 May 2018. By using our services, you entrust us with your data. This Statement describes which data we collect, how we process it, for what purposes we use it, and your rights related to your data.

b) If we use external service providers to process your personal data, this constitutes (personal data) processing on behalf of the controller. In such cases, we remain responsible for the protection of your personal data.
2. Types of Personal Data:
We use the following personal data concerning our employees, associates, business partners, hotel guests and visitors to our website: first and last name, personal identification number (OIB), gender, home address, nationality, type, number and date of issue of identification document, date, place and country of birth, education details, account number, salary information, email address, contact number, employment information, video recordings of individuals, etc.
3.Purposes of Personal Data Processing and Legal Basis:
The legal basis for processing employees’ personal data is the Labour Act, the Ordinance on the Content and Method of Keeping Records of Employees, the employment contract, and legitimate interest, with consent being applicable only in exceptional and rare cases. The purpose of processing based on laws and by-laws is compliance with the controller’s legal obligations. Processing based on the employment contract serves to fulfil rights and obligations arising from the contract.
Regarding processing through the video surveillance system based on legitimate interest, the purpose is to protect the life and health of employees and guests, and hotel property.
The legal basis for processing the personal data of our contractual partners and associates is the cooperation agreement and/or an established business relationship, for the purpose of fulfilling the rights and obligations arising from the contractual relationship.
The legal basis for processing guests’ personal data (first and last name, place, country and date of birth, nationality, type and number of identity document, residence address, date and time of arrival, expected departure date, date and time of departure, gender) is the Act on the Provision of Tourism Services and its by-laws, which prescribe mandatory submission of this data to the Croatian National Tourist Board via the eVisitor system.
The legal basis for processing the above data, as well as additional data, is also the contract concluded for the purpose of providing and charging hotel accommodation services and related services.
We use guests’ personal data, specifically their email addresses, for sending newsletters, based on legitimate interest—applied to current guests, former guests, and prospective guests.
We process personal data of website visitors based on consent, which clearly states the purpose of data use and includes all elements necessary for assessing the validity of consent.
4. Disclosure of Personal Data:
We are obliged to submit guests’ personal data to the Croatian National Tourist Board.
We are, in some cases, required to submit employees’ personal data to labour inspections, the tax authority or other similar bodies in the performance of their official duties.
5. Transfer to Third Countries:
We do not transfer your personal data outside the European Union.
6. Retention Period:
We retain employees’ personal data for the periods and in the manner prescribed by the Ordinance on the Content and Method of Keeping Records of Employees.
Personal data processed in cooperation with business partners is retained until the conclusion of cooperation, or until the completion of relevant procedures arising from such cooperation.
We retain guests’ personal data until all rights and obligations arising from the accommodation service contract and related services have been duly fulfilled. Please note that we do not delete your data if debt collection procedures and/or legal proceedings related to the provided service are initiated, until their final conclusion.
Personal data included in complaints must be retained for one year.
Email addresses processed for marketing purposes will be retained until an objection to such processing is submitted. You may object at any time.
7. Obligation to Provide Personal Data:
Guests’ personal data processing is required by the Act on the Provision of Tourism Services and related by-laws. Without the submission of required data, we will not be able to provide accommodation or related services.
You are not required to provide your email address for additional marketing purposes, but without it you will not receive the latest updates and offers that may be of interest to you.
Processing personal data under contracts with our partners is necessary, as without it we cannot conclude or fulfil business agreements.
Processing employees’ personal data is based on legal and contractual obligations; failure to process such data would lead to violation of the law or inability to fulfil employment rights and obligations.
8. Data Subject Rights:
a) Right to rectification:
If we process your personal data that is incomplete or inaccurate, you may request correction or completion at any time.
b) Right of access:
You have the right to obtain confirmation as to whether we process your personal data, and, where applicable, request access under Article 15 of the General Data Protection Regulation.
c) Right to erasure:
You may request deletion of your personal data if it has been processed unlawfully or constitutes a disproportionate infringement of your protected interests. Note that certain legal obligations may prevent immediate deletion.
d) Right to restriction of processing:
You may request restriction if you contest the accuracy of data (for the period needed for verification), if processing is unlawful but you oppose deletion, if data is no longer needed but required for legal claims, or if you have submitted an objection.
e) Right to data portability:
